Indian Wedding Cards

Indian couples who wish to get married typically print out two sets of Indian wedding cards. One set of wedding cards are especially for the groom’s relatives and friends. The other set of wedding cards is what the bride distributes to her friends and relatives. Not all couples abide by this tradition however; this custom usually applies if a couple’s marriage is a result of a formal arrangement between the bride’s and the groom’s elders.

Indian wedding cards contain the date of the wedding, the venue and other relevant details. In traditional Indian weddings, there are no other cards apart from the wedding invitation. The invited guest may or may not attend as he or she wishes without having to RSVP. Traditional Indian wedding cards, moreover, are not as restrictive as Western wedding cards; the wedding card may be addressed to just one person but the invited guest is typically allowed to bring other guests with him.
